The Stage 2 upgrade for the Kia Cerato GT is designed to deliver substantial performance gains through precision modifications and calibration. The process begins with the installation of a high-flow air filter, which enhances volumetric intake by reducing airflow restrictions. Next, four high-performance iridium spark plugs are fitted to improve ignition efficiency, resulting in more complete combustion, increased power, and improved throttle response.

To further optimize intake and exhaust efficiency, we install a Wagner Competition Intercooler kit. This high-capacity, bar-and-plate intercooler system significantly reduces intake air temperatures, increasing charge density and allowing for higher boost levels and more consistent performance, especially during sustained or high-demand driving.

The exhaust airflow is further improved by fitting an X-Force resonator/secondary catalytic converter delete pipe, decreasing exhaust backpressure and enhancing scavenging. This results in increased horsepower and torque across the rev range.

The central component of the upgrade is the ECU remapping, performed on a dynamometer. Utilizing advanced tuning software, we recalibrate engine parameters—including fuel maps, ignition timing, boost control (if applicable), and other critical engine functions—in real-time. This calibration maximizes power output, torque delivery, and fuel efficiency while maintaining reliability.

Following the tuning process, comprehensive road testing is conducted to verify drivability, manage heat dissipation, and fine-tune the calibration. The upgrade culminates with a dyno sheet that highlights the gains in horsepower and torque, providing a clear comparison of pre- and post-upgrade performance.
